Victims of human trafficking and labor exploitation receive counseling and support through a project funded by the Local Development Programme
Trafficking in human beings and labor exploitation can be combated by better informing and advising vulnerable groups in the face of these dangers. To this end, the Romanian Salvation Army, through the project “S.M.A.R.T. – multifunctional anti-poverty services for reintegration and transformation ”, financed by the Local Development Programme, provides counseling and support for possible victims of human trafficking and exploitation.
We provide some information from the information campaign carried out within the project relevant to the issue of human trafficking.
What is a center for assistance and protection of victims of human trafficking?
Assistance and protection center for victims of human trafficking = a space for people, victims of the crime of human trafficking, in order to provide physical protection and psycho-social assistance for socio-professional reintegration in the community.
What public authority subordinates such centers?
National Agency against Trafficking in Human Beings (ANITP) within the Ministry of Internal Affairs
How many such centers are there at national level?
There are 15 regional centers on the scheme of courts of appeal in addition to each Court of Appeal.
What services do these centers offer?
It offers various types of services such as:
- provides citizens with a 24-hour hotline to inform and report potential cases of human trafficking;
HelpLine 0.800.800.678 (free national call) or +4.021.313.3100 (callable from abroad), operating hours: Mon-Fri 08.00-16.00
- inform the relevant authorities about possible cases of trafficking in human beings;
- provides assistance to victims through 15 regional centers
