The RSDF opens a line of financing to solve the most pressing problems of the Roma
On Thursday, July 15, 2021, the Romanian Social Development Fund (RSDF) launched, within the Local Development Programme, funded by the EEA and Norway Grants 2014 – 2021, the Small Grants Scheme “Priority Interventions for Roma Communities”.
Thus, local public authorities (communes, cities / municipalities) and non-governmental organizations can initiate projects that address needs identified in a participatory way at the community level, leading to improved social and educational facilities for children and youth, increased access to health services and better living conditions.
Among the eligible activities we list the arrangement and endowment of spaces for the educational process (including connections to utility networks), improving the infrastructure that ensures children and young people access to these spaces (including repairs of means of transport used by preschoolers and students), and the establishment and endowment of public medical dispensaries, public baths and the provision of basic medical services (including dentistry). Also, the projects can propose activities aimed at investments in the rehabilitation and endowment of social housing, connecting individual housing to utility networks (including internet), expanding living space, repairing individual houses and building toilets.
Projects that respond to priority needs that appear within or that affect disadvantaged / isolated communities, without access to resources and where the capacity to attract and implement projects is low will have priority.
The amount available in the call is 1,647,059 Euro and comes from the EEA Grants 2014 – 2021 (85%) and public co-financing (15%). The minimum amount of the grant that can be requested is 20,000 euro, and the maximum is 50,000 euro. The deadline for submitting projects is October 14, 2021. All documentation related to the call is available online at https://dezvoltare-locala.frds.ro/en/sgs-priority-interventions-for-roma-communities/. Any requests for clarification can be sent by those interested to the e-mail address info@frds.ro.
The call “Priority Interventions for Roma Communities” is the seventh call organized under the Local Development Program, funded by the EEA and Norway Grants 2014-2021, a program aimed at reducing poverty by increasing access to basic social services for disadvantaged groups, improving inclusion of Roma and children and young people at risk, increasing the capacity of central and local government to implement the principles of good governance and accelerate the implementation of decisions and recommendations made by the European Court of Human Rights for Romania.
