33 local public authorities from 16 counties have the chance to obtain funds for the elaboration of technical documentation necessary for the realization of priority community investments
Of the 53 local authorities that submitted projects under the call Access to Financing – 2021, only 33 (62%) kept the chance to obtain the necessary funds to prepare priority investments at local level, following the completion of the formal verification stage of submitted projects. The competition is even tighter, as the value of the projects admitted in the content evaluation stage is over one million euros, while the total financial allocation for this round of funding is only 595,705 euros.
The initiators of the remaining 33 competing projects are requesting funds for the elaboration of technical documentation necessary for the construction, extension, rehabilitation or modernization of social, educational and medical infrastructure, water and sewerage infrastructure, roads, bridges and social housing.
Most of the submitted projects come from Mureș, Sibiu and Suceava counties (5 each). It is followed by the counties of Brașov (3), Vrancea, Ilfov and Hunedoara (2), respectively Alba, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Covasna, Cluj, Dolj, Iași and Tulcea (1).
The content verification phase of these projects is expected to be completed in early November.
Launched by the Romanian Social Development Fund (RSDF) in April 2021, the call “Access to financing – 2021” is financed from the EEA Grants 2014-2021 and is part of a grant scheme through which, in 2019 and 2020, FRDS financed another 17 similar projects, totaling approx. 400,000 euros. The grants provided ensured the development of technical documentation necessary to start local investments aimed at improving road infrastructure, modernization and construction of bridges, construction and rehabilitation of schools and kindergartens, and modernization of local medical infrastructure.
